Seeking Connections: Mandarin Grill + Bar, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong Co-presented with 3812 Gallery
Past exhibition
Overview
The history and legacy of Mandarin Oriental's Grill Room are steeped in legend, embodying the fusion of Eastern and Western influences. As a part of this ongoing Hong Kong narrative, 3812 Gallery takes immense pride in co-presenting "Seeking Connections," an art exhibition that pays tribute to Hong Kong artists who epitomise the spirit of tradition and innovation. This exhibition invites you on a visual journey that celebrates the stories of Hong Kong.
Within the walls of the Mandarin Grill + Bar, Seeking Connections evokes a sense of nostalgia while capturing the transformative essence of Hong Kong. Through their creative expressions, our carefully selected Hong Kong artists weave together the threads of history and new possibilities, offering a vibrant and captivating exploration of artistic narratives.
Featuring the captivating ink works of renowned artist and architect Raymond Fung (b.1952), alongside the internationally acclaimed Chloe Ho (b.1987), who represents a new era of contemporary ink art, the exhibition also introduces the emerging talents of Joanne Chan (b.1992), Kwan Yung Yee (b.1991), Eric Lai Wai Lam (b.1990), and Lau Sze Man (b.1995). These artists bring a fresh perspective and unique narratives to the Hong Kong art scene. Their fascinating paintings encapsulate the essence of their identities, memories, and imaginations, offering the audience an emotionally resonant experience of life in Hong Kong.
"Seeking Connections" not only showcases the remarkable talent of Hong Kong artists but also aligns with the vision and mission of 3812 Gallery's new initiative, YA! YOUNG ART. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between traditional and contemporary art, fostering a dialogue that transcends boundaries. It encourages us to explore the connections that emerge between the old and the new, the past, the present, and the future.
Join us on this artistic journey through "Seeking Connections" and immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of Hong Kong's art and culture.
