Raymond Fung, Breathing (2)(3), 2020, Ink and colour on paper, 43 x 43 cm (x2)
Breathing is Raymond Fung’s latest series, produced in part during the Covid-19 pandemic. The series, says Fung, explores Breathing as an element and in its literal meaning, and asks whether the world is breathing anymore. In the face of a widespread pandemic and its associated problems, Fung explores this essential, literal element through Chinese painting.
We are also proud to present Swimming with Sharks by Chloe Ho.
Chloe Ho, Swimming with Sharks, 2014, Chinese ink on paper, 180.5 x 82cm
Chloe Ho represents the energy and vitality of a new generation of artists who embraces their cultural identity while embroidering upon it their values. Chloe is a daughter of travel, a person who may physically be in one place but her creativity is already exploring elsewhere; her art represents this fluidity of expression, she continues to take us to one after another unexpected space where boundaries can hardly be seen. This fluidity is transferred into her work, her paintings almost breathing as they convey an intimate moment of reflection.
Both works can be viewed and purchased directly on Artsy here
