Black and Blue

Qian Wu
2023

3812 Gallery London is proud to announce Qian Wu’s ‘Black and Blue’, the artist’s first solo exhibition of paintings in London, a blend of Eastern and Western influences. Born in Xiamen, China, in 1991, Qian Wu studied painting in America, inspiring him to transcend the boundaries between East and West and integrate traditional Chinese brush painting with the bold strokes of Western abstraction as Chinese artists Zao Wou-Ki and Chu Teh-Chun had done in the 1950s.

Using a mix of oil, acrylic resin and ink in black, white and blue, Wu leads viewers on a journey between abstract and structural forms.
