Italian designer, architect and urban planner
One of the most respected and leading figures in Italian design, Magistretti had designed numerous award winning and best selling furniture and homewares. His works are known for their sleek and simple yet stylish forms, offering both aesthetic and technical solutions. He was one of the first designers to experiment with using plastic in furniture. Celebrated as timeless classics, his designs have been exhibited in major museums around the world. Magistretti’s architectural and town planning projects were equally innovative; examples include Torre al Parco (1953-56), the Corso Europa office building (1955-57) and the Piazzale Aquilea building (1962-64).
