3812 Gallery is thrilled to announce its inaugural participation in the prestigious Abu Dhabi Art  2024, taking place from 20 - 24 November 2024. The gallery will present a curated selection of works by acclaimed Chinese diaspora artists, showcasing the transcultural artistic language that has emerged from the intersection of Eastern and Western influences.

The presentation will feature the works of established artists such as Ma Desheng (b. 1951), Raymond Fung (b. 1952), Liu Guofu (b. 1964), and Li Hongwei (b. 1980). Through their innovative practices, these artists seamlessly integrate Chinese philosophy into a universal artistic language, embodying the gallery's curatorial vision of "Eastern Origin and Contemporary Expression."

Paris-based Chinese artist Ma Desheng, one of the co-founders of the influential "Stars Group" (1979, Beijing), left a profound impact on the development of contemporary art in China. Ma’s works are collected by institutions including Centre Pompidou, the British Museum, and M+.

Hong Kong artist Raymond Fung, educated in the US, addresses the global issue of climate change, a universal concern bridging East and West, through traditional Chinese ink paintings. Fung’s works can be found in notable collections such as the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and the Hong Kong Palace Museum.

Liu Guofu navigates the potential pitfalls of blending Western aesthetics with Chinese tradition, incorporating influences from Western expressionism, abstract expressionism, and modern painting. Liu’s works are included in MGM Chairman's Collection and Shanghai Art Museum.

US-based Chinese artist Li Hongwei reimagines traditional porcelain forms from the Song dynasty, infusing them with modern glazing, style, and design. Li’s works have been collected by over 30 prominent institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago and the British Museum.

"This is our first time to join the Abu Dhabi Art fair and share the brilliance of our Chinese diaspora artists with new audiences in the Middle East," said Calvin Hui, Co-founder and Chairman of 3812 Gallery. "We truly appreciate this incredible opportunity to foster cultural exchange and introduce our curatorial vision through the transcultural artistic dialogue in a contemporary context."

3812 Gallery's participation in the Abu Dhabi Art fair underscores its commitment to promoting exceptional Chinese art on the international stage. The gallery's presentation will offer a glimpse into the dynamic art scene of the region and highlight the diversity of contemporary Chinese artistic expression.
